Mitch has been blooging like a mad man this afternoon and in his list of goals I found this...
Strengthen my network of contacts within Australia and Overseas across technical, business and academic disciplines.
Now that just happens to fit with one of my goals this year so I want to set a deadline of the end of Jan 07 to setup a coffee with Mitch (not because I need a Powershell presenter for my User Group, but would be great if...) because I'm pretty sure I only know two Developers in Canberra very well, one does Cold Fusion stuff (but mostly teaches people to think better these days) and the other is Athena, so it is time to get out and meet some more.
I am also keen to develop more speakers so the coffee on me offer to all CBRWINUG members or other interested folk is still open, but we will be moving the open mic night to June07 see I do look at the surveys and am happy to react to what people want.
Lastly I really just want ideas for CBRWINUG events and organisational things so if you live in Canberra and want to help out with the planning process fill out the survey

I was reminded that I have not sought feedback on what you need from the Canberra Windows User Group. Thanks Dugie
Please Fill in the Survey http://www.aususergroups.org/Default.aspx?tabid=884 of course as always I am happy to hear from you directly.
Now you don't need to have come along before, and I guess you don't need to be from Canberra (but it would help)
Why Canberra Windows User Group? It is the name I picked on the spot when I needed to name the DNN Site in a hurry. What do we cover anything that runs on, or closely with Windows Infrastructure Solutions

Saw this in SMH online and thought it very cool for all my evil purposes.
The KishKish Lie Detector, for example, can be downloaded free as an "extra" on the popular internet phone service Skype.
It is capable of monitoring, in real-time, the stress levels in a person's voice.
Its creator, BATM, says higher sound frequencies are a telltale sign that someone is being dishonest.
"What all people have in common is that their stress levels are constantly changing within their current range, changes which indicate the 'perceived jeopardy' or 'danger' of statements being made," reads a product description on the KishKish website.

I had said that my company Synergistic Network Solutions would match dollar for dollar all money I raised. There were limits and it turns out neither were triggered. I had thought that we would put in a minimum of $250 (which was the number donated this year) to a maximum of 5% of last years nett profit this would be our main charitable donation this year.
So how did we perform in terms of ratio's well my total sponsor contributions only gave $25 mainly because I was too busy to talk with anyone long enough to corner them for donations. So this year Synergistic Donated at $10 to $1 next year I hope we can change the ratio by getting more folk involved with donating and raising awareness.
I hope to have time to turn the screws on your wallets a bit.
How did everyone else go?

Hmmmmm I do wonder sometimes
