Canberra IT-Pro User Group on Hiatus until further notice

You may have noticed that there have not been any meetings of the Canberra IT-Pro User Group this year.

Athena made this announcement today

Hi,

As many of you are aware, I have been running the Canberra .NET User Group since November 2003 and recently taken on running the IT-Pro User Group. Running user groups is entirely voluntary and I've been able to do this because my employer, dotNET solutions has allowed me to do so as part of my job role.

Recent changes within dotNET solutions means that my time, as manager of the company now needs to be concentrated almost solely on dotNET solutions business. As a result I will no longer have the required time to run these user groups.

At this point in time we don't seem to have anyone to take over the leadership role for the IT-Pro group. As a result no meetings will be held until further notice. If you are interested in taking on the management of this group please let me know. It's of great value to the Canberra community and it's a shame to let it go.

I'd like to thank you for your support and I hope to see you around.  Canberra Windows User Group

So without a group leader this would seem to be the end of in person meetings for Canberra IT-Pro's.

I'd like to personally thank Athena for taking on the group last year, even though she was only running things for a short time, her contribution was invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Of course if anyone wants to take on the management of the group they can rely on my support.
